If you are looking for a book that will really grip you and really challenge the way you perceive the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, then you'll not be disappointed with this book. Even months after reading it, 'connections' are made which originated from reading the book. It is a truly remarkable piece of writing. |

A very challenging story showing how God can take the most tragic of situations and make something good come out them. Just thinking about it makes me want to go and read it again! |

I found the book blasphemous and a very dangerous book to offer to non-christians. It should be banned. |

Fascinating book. The story seems so real and beyond imagination. I just could not put it down and for two complete nights I could not sleep because I was thinking of such a clear portrayal of the Trinity. I would highly recommend this book to my Christian friends. |

I understand some of the negative comments posted. However it is a fictional story which challenges a lot of preconceptions about God & how He sees us. It is not a strict biblical dissertation (such as Philip Yancey gives) but it does show us the most important thing for anyone, that GOD LOVES US. I've been a Christian all my adult life & the reality of god's love for me reduced me to tears by the end of the book.
An excellent book to introduce beleivers & non believers to who God really is. |

This book is unbiblical and could be very dangerous for both christians and non-christians - don't read it. I don't think UCB should be stocking or recommending it. |

This is only a story, it is not the bible,we have not been told by the author to do anything with so I dont see any reason why anyone will condemn it except for lack of understanding. It has changed my life,I feel the prescence of The Triun God with me now 24/7. My prayer life has changed, it has become conversational. I thank God for the Author. This book is an eye openner for those still playing church. God is more interested in relationship. This is what this book is calling us to, DEEPER FELLOWSHIP WITH THE TRINITY. |

I think this story is dangerous. Particularly for non & new Christians who may not be able to see beyond the doctrine of Universalism which is promoted in this book |

I read this book and , what I clearly think was misunderstood was that the father Son & Holy Spirit are one Jesus is one people are concentrating on the trinity and missing the oneness of God in the story and Forgivness on another level, Where is God in our darkest moments. As I believe when i reas this book God was taing me to another level of forgivness. and more depper understanding of the purpose in relationship and trust in God. |

It's a book well put together, that I must admit. However, I question the foundation of the book and I stopped ringing it 50 pages to the end. It creates confusion rather than peace and at that point, I realised it was a NO-NO :) Well, It's a personal take and I wouldn't recommend it. Peace, Love and Be guided into truth by the words of Jesus from the BIBLE! |

This book transformed my thinking and is not as some people tried to put across blasphemous in any way. I found it revealing and inspiring. The brilliance is when you have doubts about its theological soundness and put it against the bible it stands the test, and reassures you of the wonderful loving nature of God ,but does not water down the message. It i believe makes you want to live in a far deeper relationship with Jesus God and the Holy Spirit. It makes you want to pass the book on to friends as they all can gain from this book a greater depth of our mighty God. |

this is a marvellous book which I am now reading for the second time as it contains spiritual truths which I need to really grasp hold of. Have already ordered 2 more copies for friends - provide a box of tissues with book and be prepared to be taken to unexpected places with this story!! |

The Shack is a book you are likely to love if you are not comfortable with what the Bible reveals about who God is, with how He feels about sin, with what happened at the cross of Christ, and why.
The really sad thing is that some people will get their view of who God is from this work of fiction instead of from God's own revelation of Himself in *His* book - the bible. Buy yourself a bible and get your understanding of God from that, not this work of fiction. It's not safe to get your doctrine from fiction. |

The Shack.Fantastic book..the best book I have read in years [ apart from the bible]. I just love the way God is depicted as a big black momma, Jesus in casual clothes and the Holy Spirit flighty and fussy yet always tender and caring. God is beyond our conceptual and intellectual understanding. God is the God of our imagination as well as our hearts. We tend to put God in a box but The Shack challenges us and says: Who is YOUR God...when I read the book I felt very close to God...I knew He loved me and that this is the God for me..so beautiful in Love...fantastic read. |

It was a very moving book. You get such a powerful revelation of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I love the Bible, and feel that this book is absolutely no threat to Gods Word. Please read it for yourself, you'll be blessed! |

Overall I enjoyed The Shack. I found it quite intense at times and some of the language used was above me. However, there were some really warm moments and revelations about God that made me feel 'fuzzy' inside! I would recommend you read this book and form your own opinions. |

For anyone who has ever lost a child, this is a very comforting book. If God is a God of love, why would he not intervene to save an innocent child's life? Perhaps we don't realise that in many cases he has done just that - but what about those times when the child died, as a result of an accident, cot death, or, worst case scenario, through abuse and murder? Well, read this book, for I believe the author has made a valiant and valid attempt to justify the ways of God to man (if indeed God, being God, needs to be justified). The story, initially, is gripping and fast moving. My wife thought the book would be too frightening to read -- but it is not frightening. If anything, I found it loses momentum a little in the dramatisation of theological and ethical premises. I would give the story away if I expounded on this - so advise you to read the book for yourself. In the end, you won't be disappointed. I found nothing in the book - a novel, actually - that conflicts with the bible's teachings of love and relationships. In the end, there is no theology, or religion, just a wonderful relationship with a loving and patient God, who lives outside and yet inside time. Well, if you're fed up with religion, with Christianity, with your church, or indeed with God -- read this book. It might change your perspective of Him - and your relationship with Him. Which, of course, is what the Gospel, the message of John 3:16, is all about. |
